A MAN and woman involved in an alleged assault of police officers in Armidale last month have had their hearings adjourned until next week.
The 23-year-old man and 18-year-old woman appeared in Armidale Local Court on Monday over an incident on June 17, outside the New England Hotel on the corner of Beardy and Dangar streets.
It is alleged the man resisted arrest and was assisted in his efforts by a number of others. The woman allegedly grabbed a female police officer by the hair and dragged her for a short distance.
The woman pleaded not guilty to resisting police and assault, but pleaded guilty to a third charge. The man’s lawyer was not present, leading to his matter being adjourned to next Monday.
Magistrate Mark Richardson determined that the woman’s matter also be adjourned to the same day as her co-accused.
Bail conditions were extended for the pair.
