Nakisah Williams is crowned the regional Miss Country Girl Australia winner. A MODELLING career is beckoning for Armidale teenager Nakisah Williams after winning the Tamworth Miss Country Girl Australia competition.
After beating out 120 other aspiring models from across northwest NSW, Nakisah will travel to the national finals in Sydney early next year to compete for a modelling
contract with Scoop or Chic Management.
The Presbyterian Ladies College student won the regional final held in Tamworth last Saturday.
Nakisah said she was delighted with her win, which came as a big surprise.
“You never really expect to win that sort of thing,” she said.
“The best thing was probably the girls; everyone was so nice and it was really easy to make friends.”
Nakisah said she was incredibly excited about the opportunity to attend the national finals and hoped it might help her launch her own modelling career.
“It’s probably the biggest opportunity that somebody could get at my age, coming from Armidale,” she said.
Up to 35 young women aged from 13-28 will compete for the crown in Sydney in February.
National director and founder of the competition Katie Jones said winners were selected based on a range of criteria, including a personality section, formal wear
section and swimwear section.
“Nakisah definitely has the whole package,” she said. “She’s obviously beautiful and has such a great personality.
“I think she would be a great ambassador of country girls around Australia.”
