In a very even night of tennis, Grant Fisher and his partner, Warren Schaefer won Round 4 of the Men’s No 2 Winter Competition on Tuesday night.
Grant and Warren won the total of 26 games after many close battles. Their sets were 5/3, 4/4, 7/1, 4/4, 6/2. The next best players were Charles Harvey and Anthony Wilson winning 22 games. Their sets were very tight with three of the sets 4 all and winning the other two sets 5/3. What a night of tennis for the men.
Just a further game behind capturing 21 games after three sets also finishing 4 all were Ian Jones and Graham Eppelstun who was filling in for Hugh Moffitt. Ian and Graham lost their first set 3/5, but won the last 6/2.
The other three pairs were Steve Bowerman and John Walmsley who won 17 games and just one game behind winning 16, were Stuart McKellar and Ken Norrie. Overall, it was a great night of tennis for the men with 6 matches finishing 4 all and six matches resulting in 5/3.
Round 5 of the Men’s Tennis Competition will be played next Tuesday night, June 19 weather permitting.

Last Thursday , June 7 saw a pleasing number of players turn up for social tennis played in ideal conditions.
Good to see Rod Freudenstein on the courts having a friendly game and visitor Steven Brown who was at Grenfell for the week visiting his grandparents, Bill and Marie Rudd.
Social players enjoyed the tennis in such pleasant conditions. Social tennis is played on Thursday afternoon commencing around 1.45 pm. You are welcome to come along for a game.
The Fourth Round of the Intertown Tennis Competition is set down for next Sunday, June 17 when Forbes plays Grenfell/Cowra and West Wyalong plays Temora. Best of luck to the Grenfell/Cowra team.
On Sunday, July 22 the Grenfell Junior Development Series Tournament will be held.
