Firstly, President David Jones inducted new member, Graham Bragg into membership. Also, Treasurer Jim Marden’s contributions to the Club were honoured with the presentation of a Paul Harris Fellowship.

New member

While Graham Bragg and his wife, Caroline, have a property locally, they both still work in Canberra on weekdays. Graham is an IT consultant.

They would happily live in Grenfell full-time, should Graham find suitable I/T employment either in our local area or finding work he can do remotely from home.

PHF awarded

In preparation for presenting the most recent Paul Harris Fellowship award, President David said that while the member he was about to announce (being Treasurer, Jim Marden) is one of the Club’s quieter members, he has a great sense of humour.

Although reluctant to put himself forward, Jim’s talents were recognized and put to very good use in an area which the club really needed his expertise.

President David said that Jim “Is about to undertake his third year as treasurer, he is an outstanding Rotarian, always there to help when needed, brilliant at figures and great on the bbq.”

As low-key about himself as always, Jim was completely taken aback when he realized he was the recipient of the award.

A Grenfell member since 2006, Jim and his wife, Lesley, reside at “Bungama” on the Cowra Rd.
