This day will be well remembered by the boys as it was the first time they had ever had opportunity to play on home turf and the occasion was met with gusto.

The combined team consists of players from Grenfell, Temora & West Wyalong.

The 15’s had been playing very well together prior to this day considering they hadn’t trained together as a team. Wednesday 13th June was the boys first training session combined and what a difference this made.

It set this team on fire 15’s Panther’s won both games for the day.

Sundays Team Line-up: Grenfell – Will Brown, Cameron McKellar, Finlay Johnson, Brock Taylor, Troy Chapman, Ciaran Thomson Jones, Kyle Norris. Temora – Hayden Lomax, Charles Slinger, Luke Skidmore, Tom O’Raferty, Sam O’Raferty, Lachlan Barratt, Will Hartwig. West Wyalong – Regan Hughes, Brayden Taylor

Panther’s U15’s took on Young for their first game and they had full control of the entire game, not to take anything away from Young, they are a strong team and made the Panther boys work hard for every try.

Once the Panthers got their momentum going they didn’t slow down at all, with a great combination of speed and strength in every player.

Keeping our defence strong was always going to be quite the task but players like Cameron, Lachlan, Troy and Brock made it impossible for Young to get through. Tom, Luke, Finlay, Hayden, Ciaran and Kyle kept every inch of the ground covered and effectively collected any loose plays. While players like Sam, Will B, Will H, Brayden, Charlie and Reagan had their running legs ready.

Game 1: against Young Panther tries went to Charles Slinger 1, Hayden Lomax 2, and Finlay Johnson 1. Will Brown successfully kicked 3 from 4 conversions for the Panthers.

Final score 26 – Nil –Panthers win.

Our second game against the mighty lads from Griffith was always going to be tough. The Panthers had to dig deep and set their momentum running. Play zig zagged in a controlled and determined manner with both teams out to prove a point that they wanted the win. The Panthers 15’s did very well considering they were a player down in the second ½.

Game 2: Tries for this game went to Luke Skidmore 2, Finlay Johnson 1, Ciaran Thomson Jones 1, Hayden Lomax 2. Will B had some difficult angles to kick from managing 2 conversions.

Final Score 34 –Nil Panthers win.

Panthers U15’s are now back to 2nd on the ladder.
