Charles Harvey and Murray Mitton with the total of 26 games won the round, going through the night undefeated. Two of their sets finished at 4 all, their other three sets were 5/3, 8/0, 5/3. A good night for Charles and Murray.

Two other pairs, Steve Bowerman and Anthony Wilson and Stuart McKellar and Warren Schaefer were just two games behind winning 24 games. Stuart and his fill-in for Arnold Brown, Warren Schaefer lost their first set, 3/5, they then won 6/2, 4/4, 4/4, 7/1. Steve and Anthony played very consistent tennis throughout the round to score 6/2, 4/4, 6/2, 4/4, 4/4- a very good effort.

Grant Fisher and his fill-in for Hugh Moffitt, Leigh Taylor also played consistent tennis to record four 4 all’s but went down in a close match in their other set 3/5 to win a total of 19 games. Danny Joyce who filled in for Rod Freudenstein played with John Walmsley to win a total of 18 games. Ken Schaefer was a fill-in for Ian Jones and his partner for the night was Ken Norrie. They did not have the best of luck in their sets.

It was another awesome night of tennis for the men with seven matches resulting in 4-all- a great result.  Round 7 will be played next Tuesday night weather permitting.

SUCCESS AT COWRA

The Cowra Tennis Club held its Annual Seniors Tennis Tournament last weekend and two Grenfell players, Michael Doyle and Phil Barr travelled across to take part. Phil Barr was most successful at the Tournament taking out a Division of the American Doubles. Phillip paired with Neville Thomas of Springwood to be runner-up in the Combined 120 Years Group of the Men’s Doubles. He then concluded the weekend, pairing with his partner, Cheryl  from the ACT to win the Combined 110 Years Mixed Doubles. Congratulation Phil on your success- well done.

On Sunday, July 1, the Grenfell/Cowra Intertown Tennis team will play West Wyalong.

This match which will be played at Cowra, will be a tough one to win so lets hope all players selected will make every effort to be available. Good luck!
