Students from the St Josephs Drum Corp travelled to Forbes on Monday June 25 to compete in the 19th annual Forbes Eisteddfod, held at the Town Hall.
The group performed a percussion piece in a group against five different schools and was awarded first place in their section.
In 2011 the Drum Corp Group was awarded second place.
The consistent hard work and efforts of the group has paid off with this year’s first place result.
Congratulations to all of the students and to their teacher Mr Noonan for his excellent guidance and persistence.
The Principal of St Joseph’s, Mr Peter Stephens says that the school community is thrilled with the news. “We often remind students about being persistent and working hard to acheive their goals.
The first place result is an excellent example of this.
As a school we are so proud of their group’s efforts.
I would also like to thank the parents for their continued support.”
All the students represented the school and Grenfell community very well on the day, with eleven other schools and groups from the region all gathering and competing at the Town Hall for the eisteddfod.
Well done St. Josephs!
