The Grenfell Country Club with a game start challenged the Railway Hotel for the dart cup on June 27.
The Country Club team of Mark Troth, Rod Harveyson, Ross Greenaway, Nathan Stevens, Colleen Handcock, Marty Starr, Farran Stevens and Chris Handcock was up against Tony Fenech, Lain Thiel, Inky Armstrong, Dave Thiel, Terry Knight, Murray Logan, Barry Bradtke and Jeff Gardner.
The Railway won the first four games of 301 with Tony (X1) and Lain defeating Mark and Rod, Inky and Dave (X4) defeating Rosco and Nathan, Terry (X3) and Murray defeating Colleen and Marty and Barry (X6) and Jeff defeating Farran and Chock.
The Country Club won the first game of 501 when Rod and Mark (X2) reversed their first round loss with a win over Lain and Tony.
The Railway went on to win the next two games of 501 to retain the cup six games to two.
Inky jagged double 16 in his win and Terry jagged his second double for the night (X5).
All games were close and may have gone either way.
Top scorer for the Country Club was Rod Harveyson on 85, Martin Starr followed on 81 and Mark Troth won their only game and had a top of 63.
Lain topped the score for the Railway on 96, Inky, Tony and Terry all scored 81.
This again was a great fun night enjoyed by all and games could have gone either way.
No darts were played last week owing to the State Of Origin Football and the previous week the Albion Hotel was unable to field a team.
Tonight, July 11 the Criterion Hotel with a game start will challenge the Railway followed by Show No Mercy July 18, The Bowling Club August 1 and the Criterion Hotel August 8.
