Junior bowls champion

Victors in the junior Lawn Bowls championships held at Bathurst were the Western Region Academy of Sport bowls team. Grenfell’s Ross Hunter was the Head Coach of the team and Grenfell’s Joanne Troy was the manager. To complete a great contribution from Grenfell Blake Bradtke won the Singles title at the championships and James Hunter was the Lead for the winning Doubles team. Two females and eight male Lawn Bowls athletes attended the Lawn Bowls camp and championship from July 2-3 in Bathurst.

Head coach – Ross Hunter and Manager – Joanne Troy ran the championships.

The athletes spent 5½ hours Monday on the green perfecting their skills at the Bathurst City Community Club.

The Lawn Bowler’s were able to join together with the hockey athletes for dinner and to participate in the games night on Monday night.

The athletes spent 4½ hours on Tuesday on the green, concluding their championships and closing ceremony at the Bathurst City Community Club.

Congratulations to Blake Bradtke for winning the singles, and to the pairs’ winners Jasmin Kew as skip and James Hunter as the lead.

Each Lawn Bowler received a certificate showcasing their fitness testing scores, along with a camp photo.
