Grenfell girls Tag Young and Tumut

Some very young League Tag girls from last year at Lawson Oval. Two games of league tag were played by the under 16 s team last Saturday at Young.

The first game against young was played on a very muddy ground, the girls didn’t let this effect their game, in fact they played more as a team and this reflected in the final score 12 -6 Grenfell’s way.

The first try was scored off a kick from Isabelle Holz, which stopped in the goal area and was pounced on by Emma Taylor.

The conversion was kicked by Breanna Anderson.

Play went from one end of the field to the other with both teams having good runs.

Grenfell went to half time leading 6-nil just after half time, Young scored this was followed by a second try to Grenfell from a good run from Emily Tognetti.

This try was converted by Chelsea Spalding.

All the team played well and tried hard all game and are improving each week.

The second game was played against Tumut.

The girls were eager to run on and meet this team for the first time, Grenfell played well.

The teams were evenly matched.

Great runs and good defence from both sides.

Try scorers were Dominique Holland 2 and Kira Anderson 1 ,conversions by Chelsea Spalding 2 and Emily Tognetti 1.

This making the final score 18 -14 Grenfell’s way.
