Grant and Warren played very consistent tennis in their five sets to win 27 games.

Their sets were 4/4, 4/4, 6/2, 6/2, 7/1- a good effort.

Charles Harvey and Michael Doyle also played well to win 26 games and their sets were 6/2, 4/4, 7/1, 2/6, 7/1.

Michael was filling-in for Anthony Wilson.

The other pair in the limelight was Ian Jones and Danny Joyce who played good tennis to win 25 games.

Danny was a fill-in for Hugh Moffitt and Danny and Ian’s sets were 7/1, 4/4, 1/7, 5/3, 8/0.

The other three pairs each won 14 games for the round.

They were Rod Freudenstein and Murray Mitton, Stuart McKellar and Graham Edwards who was filling in for Ken Norrie, and Steve Bowerman and John Walmsley.

Once again it was necessary to organise three fill-ins for the Men’s Winter Tennis and there are only two more rounds to complete the competition.

The men will now have to start thinking about their spring night competition.

Good to have Rod Freudenstein with us enjoying a game.

Social tennis is held on Thursdays commencing at 1pm – all welcome.

Lady tennis players are reminded that it is planned to start a competition on Wednesday, August 15 commencing at 7.30 pm.
